Red Fir
Red fir comes from the many native douglas fir trees in Oregon. Red Fir, as its name suggests, exhibits a deep red color. Red Fir bark does have splinters as it is fresh off the tree.

Dark Fir
Dark fir also comes from the many native douglas fir trees in Oregon. Dark Fir presents a darker color than red fir as it gets this color by sitting in the elements longer. As it sits the fibers break down, creating less splinters.

Red Hemlock
Red hemlock comes from another native Oregon tree, the Hemlock. Red hemlock presents a deep red color, and does not have splinters.

Dark Hemlock
Dark hemlock also comes from hemlock trees. Dark hemlock, as the name suggests is darker than red hemlock, as it gains this coloration by sitting in the elements for a period of time. Similar to red hemlock, dark hemlock does not have splinters.

Fir Chips
Fir chips, similar to red fir and dark fir, come from douglas fir trees. Fir chips are less fine that regular bark and as the name suggests, look like wood chips.
